Live poetry from Denmark
and the whole world
Sara Rahmeh comes from a country far away and a street right around the corner. She comes from a sunset over desert mountains and shopping trips on the main street. She comes from a land with morning prayers before the sun rises and from a city where people scamper down Gothersgade on bare feet and with night in their blood on an early Sunday morning. She comes from a land where she no longer belongs and from a city where people ask, “But just where do you come from?” The short answer is Denmark, and the long one is the whole world.
Sara Rahmeh is a poet, a poetry slammer, an impro-actress and a thoroughly fabulous storyteller on stage. But she is also a human being with roots in both Høje Taastrup and Syria, and with a whimsical, distinctive, and musical poetic voice firmly planted in the soil of Denmark … and in the whole world.
The performance will mainly be in Danish, read more here.
