Instincts translated into contemporary silhouettes

The David Collection opens the year with a significant first. We present a pop-up exhibition created by Jordanian-Palestinian designer Sylwia Nazzal in collaboration with multidisciplinary artist Jad Maq. The presentation is part of the official Copenhagen Fashion Week program and will be on view from 26 January through 1 February.

The exhibition centers on Nazzal’s latest collection, Al-Najah, a sensory and conceptual exploration of Bedouin life. The collection traces the raw, instinctive wisdom that has shaped how Bedouins lived, created, and survived in some of the harshest landscapes on earth.

At its core, Al-Najah is an invitation to step away from urban noise and return to what truly matters: simplicity, craftsmanship, community, and the grounding presence that emerges through making. Through hand-crafted latex, raw natural materials, pigments sourced from desert rocks, and traditional techniques, the collection shows how creation can return to the hands, how materials can speak, and how the human spirit endures once the unnecessary is stripped away.

This presentation honors Bedouin heritage — not as nostalgia, but as a living guide that reminds us that survival is both physical and spiritual, and that the simplest truths often carry the greatest strength.
